Parmigiano ReggianoItalian food export increases of 27 per cent in China. In 2012 there was a real boom of products of the Mediterranean diet. From Coldiretti’s analysis based on Istat data referred to the first nine months of 2012 emerges that in the Asian giant there has been an increase of 84 per cent of sales of pasta, 28 percent of the oil and 21 percent of the wine. Coldiretti, the biggest italian agricoltural organization, says that Chinese consumers appreciate italian cheeses. Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano tripled, while ham is even quintupled even if the amounts remain low. The value of exports of Made in Italy food in China reached almost € 300 million in 2012 with a sharp increase which helps to redress the balance of trade in the sector. From China were imported 85 million pounds of tomatoes preserved in 2012 but also vegetables and preserved fruits, vegetables and garlic with a value estimated at over half a billion euro. Trade relations - concludes Coldiretti - weigh the effects of unfair competition due to situations of dumping on health, society and environment.
